Goodrick using the books to teach with personally, thus giving instruction on using the the material in lessons, or, maybe due to the immense volume of information included in each book. Either way, the books are hard to follow without more instruction. Having said this, I would also have to say that I have spent an incredible amount of time pondering over these books, more so than any other music books. I had to think a lot about the material in these books and thinking is a good thing. Not being instructed to a great degree has lead me to figuring out the material and, how to use the material in my music - that is independent thinking - another good thing! There are still aspects of the material in these books that I don't completely understand.
That's not really a bad thing. I will understand the material in these books when I am ready. One thing that I would suggest is a supplement book with detailed explanations of the material, maybe with examples written out for the guitar in normal notation and/or tablature. That would make the intent of the material in the books more clear for the average reader and/or student. This would also speed along the understanding of the material so that the reader can use that material in his/her music. Thanks, James Murrell r.
That might have changed by now though. It's easy peasy with the Logitech control software and the 'bot control software though. For Mach3 all the info is on their forum although back when I did mine I had to follow the instructions for an XBox controller as no-one was using the WingMan. I'm not sure what kind of problems you're having, but I used a Logitech gamepad and Mach3 to run my old CNC machine (not a ShopBot) for years. On Mach3 it took me ages to get all the Mach3 KeyGrabber commands set and I never could get the joystick to work all the time.
