I have been eyeing the Bottlehead Crack for a very long time. I currently have a Schiit Magni 2, but I am looking for another fun upgrade (I am satisfied with my headphones by the way - HD 650s). I have a few questions who have sampled the Crack and comparable solid state amps to the Magni. Ideally, I want these answered in non-audiophile terms (meaning: I want people to be real about this, as the kit is a considerable investment - people lie about being able to hear big differences between DACs all the time, and I am wondering if the world of headphone amps is any different past a certain point). • Is the Crack undeniably 'better' than a Magni, or is it just different because of the tube sound? Would any reasonable solid state outperform it?
